It's the day we've all been waiting for--what K-Week has been building up to. Wednesday
marks the first day of classes for the 2013-14 academic year! Hopefully you got a good night's
sleep and are ready to go. Either way, today has lots of things happening that will either
help you stay on or get back on track! Need directions to class or maybe just bottle of
water? Stop by one of the Super Start tents on Wednesday or Thursday. Student Affairs
staff will be there to greet and assist you! And remember, there will be plenty of free
food, from breakfast to cookouts. And at the end of the day, you can celebrate in song
with Wildcat Karaoke down in the Student Center... Add/Drop Registration and Late Registration
start on Wednesday and continue through Thursday. Also on Thursday, check out UK's Student Involvement
Fair. This is a great opportunity to learn about many of UK's student organizations,
and meet many fellow Wildcats. Getting involved on campus is the best way to meet new people,
enhance your skills for the future, and make the most of student life. Plus, there's going
to be free ice cream and cold drinks, and you know we love free food! Classes aren't
the only things happening on Thursday. Be sure to check out our wide range of activities,
from Scavenger Hunts to Walking and Biking Tours, to Concerts and cookouts. There are
plenty of things for you to do to get your social on... Friday continues with classes
and registration, and we hope to do it in a Sea of Blue! Show everyone what kind of
Wildcat you are by wearing blue to show off your UK pride! Okay, you've survived the first
week of classes. Take a break and check out the free food and music with the Annual Resident
Student Association Block Party! It's all happening right here in the South Campus Courtyard.
Finally, don't miss the first football game of the season! Come here, to the Cat's Den
on Saturday evening to watch our Wildcats take on the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers!
You won't want to miss it! Wonder how they get all those classes to fit into all those
classrooms? Check out this video... Have questions about your schedule? Set up an appointment
with your academic advisor. If you want to know what an advisor does or how they can
help you, check out this video here. Take a look at your K-Week handbook for all events
happening this week, and for more information, check out these videos! Welcome to UK, have
a great time during K-Week, and don't forget to see blue!
