Hello again and welcome to http://www.aquaheat.org.uk my name’s Steve. Here we are on an installation.
This time it’s in Clapham South, Battersea area, SW11. This time we did a system conversion.
What that means is, we took a boiler, cylinder and tanks out in the loft and we put in a
nice combi condensing boiler. We converted the system. This used to be a cylinder cupboard
area in here. Get it opened, so like that’s all open space now, a nice bit of storage
there for them. And we converted the system to a Combi Condensing boiler, which is this
one. We put in a Worcester Bosch 37CDI. A great boiler, sorry, yeah 37CDI. It’s 37
kilowatts, it gives a hot water flow rate of around about kind of 16 litres per minute.
And then we’ve got… We supply and fit with the boilers, a DT20RF, which is this
programmer here. This is an optional extra, and we’ve got a wireless stat in the hallway.
With got heating times here and hot water times and that’s that thing there. Central
heating control here. Hot water here, you normally have this at about 4 or Eco on max.
You can timer heat or hot water preheat device on the boiler. I personally leave it off,
that way your economy is on. It’s a combi boiler, so the water will heat up next to
the feed when the tap is opened up. So we drain and flush the system, we put inhibitor
in the system, which is dated here. We’re Gas Safe Registered, which is this logo here.
So also, we register the boiler with Gas Safe. They will send a building control certificate
to say that it has been installed correctly and is functioning correctly. As I’m an
approved Worcester Bosch installer, (I’ve been on their training courses) I’m able
to offer the customer the free extended 7 year warranty at the moment. That covers parts
and labour on the boiler. So anything that goes wrong with the boiler, within a 7 year
period, it will be covered under warranty. Great deal and that’s that really there.
It’s a pressurised system now, so we’re going to get lots of mains pressure water,
it’s much healthier to have a combi system. There’s no tanks in the loft and you know,
you look in some tanks, you wouldn’t really want to look in your tanks in the loft, you
wouldn’t want to brush your teeth - let’s put it that way! If you saw, if they’re
over a few years old. But you don’t have any of that with this type of system. Everything
is off of the mains, there’s no need for pumps on showers because it’s all mains
pressure. Obviously, you need to make sure that you’ve got a reasonable good pressure
coming into the system. But this is a 4 bedroom house, with a bathroom and a shower room and
this is more than adequate and will do the job. So that’s it really. The condense pipe
runs outside, it’s fully lagged for frost protection in the winter months and that’s
that. So the controls for the wireless stat are here, this is the DT20RF. It’s quite
simple to use, but we set it up for the customer before we leave and that’s it. So if you’d
like more info on this job or another job that you’d like us to have a look for you,
then please drop us an email to info@aquaheat.org.uk. Thank you very much.
