College is great! I’ve been a student at Pellissippi State for over 20 years
and I’ve earned 16 degrees.
In my time here, I’ve learned a lot about how colleges work.
I'm so proud of my son
One of the great things about Pellissippi State is that it’s an accredited college.
This means that every 10 years a team of college professionals
look at everything the college does to make certain that students are getting the best possible
education.
In the coming weeks you may see
or speak with some of these professional college inspectors.
As part of the college’s accreditation reaffirmation process, Pellissippi
State has developed a Quality Enhancement Plan or QEP.
Now that’s a lot of big words that don’t seem to really mean anything. Colleges are good at that.
But, the QEP is about helping students in basic academic areas.
The QEP is designed to improve student understanding in the core academic areas of
mathematics
writing and oral communication. Your instructors have lots of good ideas
about how to do this
and all of their efforts fall under the theme
"Strong to the Core."
So, when you see one of these professional college inspectors, remember
Pellissippi State’s Quality Enhancement Plan
is an initiative to improve student performance and the theme
‘Strong to the Core.’
Wow, there’s so many good things going on at Pellissippi State
I may just say another twenty years.
Oh no..
