>>Narrator: Hello. Who's this?
>>Nikki Rollison (Senior Financial Aid Counselor): Hi. My name is Nikki Rollison.
I'm a senior financial aid counselor at UMBC, and I'm
here to help you explore ways to pay for college.
You can use the savings you've been putting aside,
Merit scholarships based on good grades, or
financial aid based on your family's need which
includes grants, loans, and work study.
If you are in middle school or high school, you
can use the FAFSA4caster to estimate what type of
financial aid you'd be eligible for.
You and your parents can go online to
FAFSA4caster.ed.gov.
You can file the FAFSA as early as January 1st if
you plan on attending college in the fall.
The earlier the better.
Yes, college is expensive, but it is affordable.
Do your homework and plan early.
Visit your favorite college website for more
information, or go to Way2GoMaryland.org and
click on the parent section and then paying
for college.
Hope to see you on campus.
