How do you understand Revelation? Well first of all you need to realize that
the book of Revelation is not something that you academically study.
It says right in the very letter that Jesus wrote there
what the intention of Revelation is. It says the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
The intention is for Jesus to be able to reveal himself to you.
And matter a fact, it's important to understand if whether it is even addressed to you.
You see because it says the Revelation of Jesus Christ
which God gave onto him to show on to his servants things which my shortly come to pass.
So it is addressed to servants. So the question is: are you a servant of Jesus
Christ? Because if it isn't addressed to you, you're
not going to be able to read it and understand what it has to say.
It's a message revealing Jesus himself to the heart and soul of men and women.
But he just does not go about doing that frivolously in any old way.
He's looking for that humble heart that wants to serve him.
So the question is: is it addressed to you? Because if it is not addressed to you,
it does not matter how much you studied this, you are not going to understand it.
A lot of people are reading a lot of books and they are paying a lot of money
for fantastical books that have been written about the book of Revelation.
And after you get done reading it, you read about all kinds of crazy ideas
about huge monsters, and about huge evil man of sin,
and about wars and things of that nature. And when you're done reading it, the question
that would be better to ask is: did you find jesus in that? Was jesus revealed
to your heart and soul? Was your need for salvation and to be delivered
from sin, was that revealed to you? These are the types of things that you need
to be seeking because the intention is to reveal jesus.
It says right in here: "the revelation of Jesus Christ which God gave on to him
to show unto his servants things which should shortly come to pass,
and he sent and signified it by his angel to his servant John.
So it was sent to servants, and it was sent to a servant to give to the servants.
Are you a servant? Goes on to say who bear record of the word of God,
and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
So truly the intention is to bear record of Jesus Christ,
who was "the word that was made flesh and dwelt amongst us."
Do you have a heart of the servent? Do you really desire to have Jesus Christ
reveal to your heart and soul? That's the only way your going to be able
to find any understanding in the Book of Revelation.
