my name's Ryan Cully i drive the number twenty one Jackson Hewitt
rpm race car
at deming speedway
my primary job shop night is uh... team coordination
I keep people on task
uh... we do regular maintenance things like that oil changes,
greasing the bar, cleaning, polishing I do
a little bit of everything on the car every week
a lot of it is reviewing notes
from set-ups and things like that
talking to crew guys about what worked and what didn't work ways that we can really
build upon what we did the week before to make the next week
even better
I'm Rick Cully Ryan's dad
my job is to sign all the checks and get the car from the house
to the racetrack and back
i have been racing since i started when i was sixteen with my
uncle helping him on a super stock and then i worked with
Rod perkins for
twenty-five years
then when
Robin was old enough
we started racing with robin them
Ryan got in the program and Allison drove for a little while i've been doing it for
thirty years i guess more or less actually over thirty years now
hi i'm Andy Preiksa and i'm Ricky's back
so i have several jobs as part of the RPM team i am one ricky back
I started racing with the RPM team when
Rick got hurt and couldn't lift
so i showed up and rick just pointed and was like uh... do this do that
do that
and i just did whatever he said not knowing what it did and slowly
started to learn
I do a stagger chart every night at the track we show up roll out the tires
measure what the circumference of them is
and then find the difference between every combination of left and right rear
and i wrote a computer program that we can
update from my phone
it runs on my computer and then syncs back to my phone
so we have a website
that has the stagger chart on it so it's up to date and we can change it whenever we want without having to do any math.
so if you haven't seen it you should check out our website
and Ryan does weekly updates on it so after every night of racing we put up a
little blurb to keep everybody informed who couldn't be there
all of the videos that Thomas makes go up on the video page there's bios about all of the crew
members who we're talking about here there's some basic facts and
frequently asked questions that come up so if you want to know more about
who we are what we do go check out our website
My name is Ian Brooks My Jobs I do
I'm really good at cleaning the car
I normally do that every time then
mister Andy does tires and everything
and I undo the tires
I'll loosen them put the tires on
always make sure the front tires are rear tires are tight before we go out
I'm a mechanic I love to work on cars it's fun
My name is Stephan
my job on the team is to video camera from the stands and polish and
uh...
do the air filters
on shop night i watch
a kid named Derek and when i'm not watching him i'm painting tires also
my name is Thomas Voorhies and I make videos
for the rpm race co team so i joined the rpm race team
this year
uh... ryan had seen some of the videos that i posted on my youtube channel
and asked if
i could film for the races for him
and at the time all i had was my ipod nano
but now i'm using the canon 60D
a majority of the videos are the car out on the track during the time-ins
heat race and a main
but i also film other videos like time lapses
i've been blessed to be with the team for the past eight years now i started driving
in the junior sprint class when i was eleven
and uh... it's just amazing how far we've come as a team
and how we have grown together
uh... and how we can keep adding very unique
people to help us continue to strive forward
uh... to become a bigger and better
team in the future i love working with RPM team everybody on it's
great
I love working with the crew because it's a positive attitude
it's always fun up here and you learn a lot of things about everyone
i'm glad to be a part of the rpm race team
because there's a lot of great people here
and i feel like i've been learning a lot about
uh...
making videos throughout the season
i enjoy working on the team uh...
Andy is a great guy
he knows his stagger chart we actually have a pretty good group of
guys ian keeps a car really clean and Andy just does whatever you
tell him
my dad and his experiences through racing
um... my brother's experiences in business and just in racing
without
big brother robin we wouldn't be able to pull all this off and
his soon to be
wife Amy has been
super about supporting the whole program and making sure that everything works
out well and she comes in helps and does the tires
keeps track of where we time in
RyanÉ he can drive
check out our youtube channel because Thomas does some awesome work on videos
and we've got a long way from just having an in car cam last year to
having the multi shots that we have this year all of these people come together
really you know
build a unique team that i think it's very difficult to find somewhere else
and uh... we're kind of like the the perfect storm if you will i mean
uh... the
team that we have assembled
uh... really
brings a hundred percent
every week to the racetrack
uh... to give
everything that's it's got
the future of this team i think is really bright we really enjoyed the whole
Deming thing i don't see is going to Skagit and running a big car but
i think we would like to do some midget stuff maybe a little bit of asphalt stuff just to kind of change up
there's been talk of uh...
changing from the whole style of racing leaving the mini sprint thing behind
and go on to a different than whether it be a sprint car
or a midget car were not you know we haven't really made any concrete solid plans yet
but i know Ryan is trying to put
put together a midget car which would be pretty cool i think uh... the website's
you know getting out there and i'm amazed at how many people look at it
it kinda goes to show how big the following is for Ryan and mini sprint racing in
general around the area
and around the country next year we'll probably be
somewhere else doing something different
forward faster bigger better
just time will tell see what we get
but for sure we'll be somewhere next year racing
