>> Ok, I have fruits and vegetables; maybe just fruits.
Just fruits, yes.
>> 4-time NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon made a pit stop
in Athens before the AdvoCare 500
at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend to give a helping hand
to the University of Georgia Campus Kitchen Chapter.

>> Alright, look at that.
>> So yeah!
So...
>> It was a huge boost to the UGA students
who volunteer weekly to help feed senior citizens
in the Athens area.
>> Specifically what Campus Kitchen at the University
of Georgia does is we look at addressing food
and security amongst the older adults in the area.
So food and security being just the inability to access food
in socially acceptable ways.
>> And it's not enough to just do something,
you have to do everything to you can possibly do.
And these students and this group here is certainly doing
that so thank you very, very much for that.
>> The AARP Foundation is one
of the corporate sponsors for Campus Kitchens.

>> [Laughter]
>> I mean seriously, I...I'm impressed.
To be able to come here
and experience what students are doing at University of Georgia
to give back to their community and help those that are dealing
with hunger issues is fantastic
and I'm just thrilled to be here.
Well I was in the kitchen with them while they were preparing.
You know they brought in a delivery of fruits
and vegetables and they started preparing and they're so excited
to slice and dice and put these meals together to get them
to you guys, so its...it's really a treat
to be a part of this here today.
Thank you so much [laughs], bye-bye.
