Hi this is Matt Dinatale representing expertvillage.com, and in this clip I'm going to show you how
to clean your mouse. Cleaning a mouse depends on what type mouse you have. If you have a
mouse like this one; it is the ball mouse, which you could see the little ball inside.
First thing you want to do is you see the two arrows basically to open the little plastic
part here just turn and just up side down like this and the ball and the little plastic
piece comes right out. Now, if you look inside here there are three different wheels. You
could tell that on these wheels there is a bunch of build up of lent or dirt on there.
The easies way to clean this is usually at the office or at home usually have a paper
clip. All you have to do is bend the paper clip as you see here and just really gently
scrap the build up off the wheels. Once that is all gone, what I like to do is take a Q-tip
and just a little bit of rubbing alcohol. I just rub that rubbing alcohol on that wheel
to clean off any extra dirt that maybe on there. Then put the ball back in, put the
plastic cover on, twist the opposite way and you are done. Now there is many different
types of ball mice. You might have one like this which this one is pretty much the same
thing just that it comes out a little differently you have a button on the bottom here. You
just push that, ball comes out and it is the same three rollers just as in the other ball
mouse. Clean those off, take the rubbing alcohol and make sure that there is not debris. All
you have to do is pop the ball back in and you are good to go. Now a lot of you may have
a optical mice just like this one where you have little eye that senses where you are
on your movement. Basically all you have to do here once again take your Q-tip, swab around
to get any debris out, and it is just simple as that. You may have dirt on your buttons.
You could take like water, you know damp cloth, or even one of the you know cloths that are
especially made for cleaning monitors and such. Just lightly go over the mouse and you
may want to take a Q-tip once again, clean the corners, getting any debris out from the
buttons were you can't reach and again you are good to go.
