This is Jill Bergman and I've just been talking to you a little bit about before a show. One
thing you have to do before you take your Alpaca to a show, is it has to have a Veterinarian
check it and give it an inspection, a certification of inspection that says that this Alpaca is
healthy enough to be taken to a show. Different states have different requirements and you
have to know what those requirements are before you take that Alpaca and that has to be included
on the Vet check; all of the requirements. The Vet will come out and inspect the Alpaca,
do a thorough exam of the Alpaca, make sure it's very, very healthy and able to go to
a show and those health papers have to be kept with you as you transport the Alpaca
to a show and they also have to be given to the people that are doing the health inspection
at the show. There is a Veterinarian at the show that checks each Alpaca and checks their
micro-chip. Make sure the micro-chip number is in accordance with that which is on the
health certificate so that you've got the right Alpaca too.
