BILL: Well, once I started smoking when I was 15,
I probably smak-- smoked on the average
pack, pack and a half a day.
One of the things I still regret doing --
I mean, I could see why it's-- it's alluring or seductive.
I mean, all kids think it's cool.
They don't know the results of it
or the bad things it will bring, inevitably.
My doctors always warned me of the --
the bad things that happen, being a diabetic and a smoker.
I mean, did I listen? No.
Well, before I had all these problems
due to my diabetes and smoking,
my life was a lot easier.
I could get around like I wanted to,
do almost anything I wanted to.
It wasn't 'til all these problems
just came up all at once,
started comboundin-- compounding themselves
that I realized the--
the severity and stupidity of my bad ways.
Now my life is so much different,
with all the restrictions I've got --
being on dialysis, being an amputee,
still being diabetic.
If I was that young again, I'd never start smoking,
for many reasons, the first one being
it doesn't do anybody any good.
It doesn't help their health.
It doesn't help their pocketbook.
It doesn't make you look that cool.
It doesn't do any good for anybody.
