Hello, This is Isaac with DFW IT Department dot com
today we're going to be talking about Windows password recovery.
to do this, you'll need a seperate computer with internet access, a CD burner, and a blank
CD.
We're going to use ophcrack, which is a free to download and use
I'll post a link to it in the description
Download the ISO. It's about half a gig
Once the download is complete, pop in a blank CD and burn the ISO file to it.
When the CD is burned, boot the forgotten-password computer up.
Put the OPHcrack CD in and 'restart' it.
OPHCrack should boot. Choose the first option labeled 'automatic'.
Once it's loaded, it should ask which partition to crack. When you pick the partition, it
will begin processing
The more complicated the password, the longer it will take. You'll find the password beneath
'NT PWD'. Cracking the password '321' was nearly instantaneous
Now that you have your password eject the CD and reboot your computer
You should be able to log into your computer with the recovered password.
