Good morning and welcome.
Volvo Truck's press conference at the trucking show IAA in Hannover
had one thing in focus: the new Volvo FH.
Or as Claes Nilsson, president of Volvo Trucks, chose to describe it:
Their icon reborn.
What you see in front of you now is the latest generation FH.
And we're not talking about a facelift - this is a brand new truck.
It is charged with news, taking transportation into a new dimension.
And reinforcing its position as a true icon.
IAA in Hannover is of course the biggest, global fair
for commercial vehicles worldwide.
It was an excellent opportunity for us,
only two weeks after the official launch,
to show this for the general public.
It will be several hundreds of thousands visitors the next ten days.
This is a fantastic coincidence in terms of timing.
It is an outstanding long-haul truck
with technology that I believe is way ahead of competition.
To stay ahead of competition
you need to understand what your customers expect from you.
This project started with
extensive research and interviews with customers.
They told us that we should improve in four focus areas.
And that is, improve handling, improve fuel consumption,
better space in the cab and even better uptime.
This product contains so much new technology
that will take this product to be beyond customer expectations.
Of course, when you launch a new product like this one,
obviously, you have ambitions to strengthen your position further
in the markets where this is to be sold.
And we have ambitious plans to do that.
All in all, our new FH is much more than a world-class truck.
It's a complete, competitive business solution.
It contains news that give our customers added-value,
compared to today's offer.
and it will further strengthen our leading position within long-haul.
