(introducing himself in native language) I was born in this small township where,
you know, you can consider as a melting pot of different ethnic groups: the Agaws, the Oromos,
the Amharas, and the Tigrinya, and the Afar.
As far as I remember I don't even know if my mother tongue was just one,
because I grew up speaking two languages.
Right before I arrived in Austin I was awarded a fellowship from the Scholar Rescue Fund,
a program of the Institute for International Education.
It's wonderful.
For one thing, Austin is such a beautiful place.
And for another, ACC is such a great place to be, a great academic institution.
