OK everyone. I'm going to give you three easy, simple exercises
that you can do before any run
to help you get your body warm,
blood flowing, and just get that mental ability
to get you ready for your workout.
OK? Here we go.
First thing I like to tell people to do
is just a nice, easy jog in place.
The reason we do this is to kind of get
your arms' motion moving and your legs moving
all in the same plane.
We don't want to see any of this
or any twisting motion, ok?
I recommend doing this for one to two minutes
until you get a nice little heart rate up.
The second exercise after this I like to do
is a workout for hip flexibility.
Again, we're staying in this plane of motion,
working on getting those hips up,
marching in place.
Again, doing this for one to two minutes.
...and finally, the last exercise I like to add
is high skips.
Again, simulates the running motion,
gets that heart rate up,
gets your knees, your hips, and your ankles moving,
and next thing you know, you're ready to go.
You do those three exercises for one to two minutes each
and you're ready to hit the road.
