There are
a couple of things to keep in mind when assigning admin roles.
First of all, before someone can become an admin on a business page, he must like the
business page first.
Secondly, it is recommended to have at least two admin accounts for a business page. Should
you, for whatever reason, lose access to the business page, you can always fall back on
the backup account.
Thirdly, it is recommended to assign admins of a page no more possibilities than necessary.
This way you can make sure that the division of tasks with regard to the Facebook page
is always set and that only the people who can properly respond to fan's messages will
be assigned this role.
You don't actually have to be active on Facebook whenever you want to share a message. You
can pre-write your messages and have them posted at a planned time, the best being the
time when your target audience is most active on Facebook.
Planning updates goes as follows: You start by writing the update. Then click on the clock-icon,
and determine the time and date on which you want your message posted, and finalize the
action by clicking 'planning'. The update will then be added to your activity log and
posted on Facebook at your specified time.
Next to planning messages, you can also target your updates, which simply means that you can
address specific groups of people within your fan base with a certain update. Do you have
a message that only applies to your female fans? Then you can target them specifically.
You can target these updates to specific individuals in your fan base, according to their gender,
marital status, level of education, interests, age, location, and language.
By way of targeting your updates you can easily decide which fans can view particular content,
making it possible to address your fans in a more personal waythan with a 'normal' update.
To turn on this function, go to 'manage permissions' in the account settings of your business page
and check the box at the heading 'Post privacy gating'.Click 'Save changes' and return to
your business page. You will now see a small icon of a target below the field where you
can update your status. By clicking on this icon you can decide which fans will receive
your post.
Remember, these targeted messages are only shown in the newsfeed of the targeted fans.
So when a fan decides to visit your business page, he/she will be able to see all your
updates, both targeted and non-targeted.
