Darn! I have made the scientists mad again.
Oh well I know you can do better than me.
The purpose of this short video is to introduce
you to Manga High and show you how to log-in
and get started.
We will use Manga High for alternative assignments,
practice and to have fun.
First you will need your log-in information.
I will give you each a slip of paper.
It tells you the address for our schools page
your User ID and Password.
I also put your log-in information in a note
to you on Edmodo.
The easiest way to get to Manga High is to
click the link in Edmodo.
However you can type the URL directly in.
http://schools.mangahigh.com/nctsa
You will know you are at the right page if
it looks like this.
It should say Math Games at NCTSA.
If you get this page you are not in the right place.
Once you get to the school’s page you need
to enter your User ID and Password.
They were in the note and on the slip of paper.
Logging in will bring you to a profile page.
Just skip this. You will then be taken
to your home page.
On this page will be challenges I have assigned.
You should choose one of these challenges because they will be connected to what we
are currently working on in math. Notice that I have also assigned a medal color. The medals
are bronze, silver and gold. This is the medal level you have to reach in order to get credit
for completing the challenge.
When you click play the challenge will load.
It may take a few seconds. You might want to turn off your sound by clicking the sound
icon on the upper left hand side.
Be sure and click the help button. It will
tell you how to play the game
And offer basic instructions in the math you
will be using.
When you are ready you click play. The game
will be explained. Then you can start to play.
Everything you do in the challenge gives you
points. When your point total is high enough
you get a medal.
You close the challenge window by clicking
the X in the upper right hand corner
I am able to see from my teacher dashboard
all the points you earn and the effort you
have made on the challenges.
Remember the goal is to learn, apply and practice
our math while we have fun.
