My first encounter with anyone in the LXD was actually meeting choreographer Christopher
Scott. Chris approached me and told me they really wanted me to be in an episode with my friend
Jeremy Marinas. Chris told me, you know, this isn't just a one time thing, this is your
opportunity to introduce yourself to the world and show everyone what you've trained for. My
background was highly influenced, actually, in martial arts. I started as a kung fu martial
arts student at the age of 6 months old in my parents own martial arts studio. So I grew
up in that art form. Um I was a national junior champion. And, by the time of, I hit fourteen
I was inducted into the hall of fame. Kinda decided I accomplished everything I set out
to do and left that. So the next couple years was really like soul searching. During those
years I really stumbled upon dance and parkour. Two things that now literally are my life.
I spend my time equally amongst the 3 arts that I still fully love and live my life by.
Um, I still train in martial arts just as equally as I train in the parkour and just
as equally as dancing. In the martial arts I guess I wouldn't have a signature move,
but I'm definitely known for my whip chains, which is seen in my first LXD episode. In
parkour my signature move would be known as a Kamikaze. It consists of getting over an
obstacle. It's just a fancy way of doing so.
I go into it by doing a 360 in the air, planting
my hands on the obstacle, and then before landing executing another 360 before touching the
ground. If you don't blink you'll catch it. When I'm out there moving, it feels like nothing
else in the world matters. It's honestly my opportunity to be myself to the fullest. I
love just being creative, expressing myself in any way. So when I'm out there, when I'm
dancing, when I'm tricking, when I'm doing parkour, it's my way to truly be who I am.
It's amazing. I love it. My life would be nothing without it. The LXD is the most elite
dance crew that was ever assembled. More than anything it's an incredible family. This is
an opportunity for all of us to really show the world what we do, what we care about,
what we spend all of our lives thinking about and training for. I'm so happy to be a part
of the LXD.
