A few of you requested a hair tutorial to go with dupatta setting. This is what we came
up with.
Start with straight blowdryed hair, and decide with the client wether she wants a side or
middle parting.
And then section of the front hair from where the ear starts, like you see here.
We will deal with the front section right at the end. Take the remaining hair and tie
it into a high ponytail
You could spray it with light hold hairspray so it's easier to manage.
Then decide what size hair doughnut to use, we went with the larger of the two.
And then place it towards the end of the pony tail, twisting the doughnut inwards as you
go towards the scalp.
Once it's nice and secure, spread the hair all around covering the doughnut. And then
secure it in all directions with bobby pins.
This is a hairstyle in its own right, but we'll extend it further using expression hair.
Match the colour close to the clients actual hair colour, this video was purely for demonstration
purposes hence the colour difference.
Split the expression hair into four strands, two going to the front and then 1 on each
side of the doughnut. Secure it on top with bobby pins.
Once it's nice and secure, you are going to take the front two sections over the doughnut
and then secure with bobby pins at the base of the doughnut.
And then you are going to split the remaining hair into two strands. Taking each of them
one at a time, upwards and back down, to cover the entire doughnut until you run out of hair.
Try to smooth the hair as much as possible through the whole process. Then make any height
adjustments and tuck away the remaining strands of hair, under the doughnut.
Now take the strand from each side of the doughnut and braid it.
Then take the braids one at a time and cover the boundary of the bun going all the way
around. This way you won't be able to see where the hairstyle starts and where it ends.
Its makes it easier to use crocodile clips to hold the hair in place and then secure
with bobby pins, and remove the crocodile clip. Any hair that is remaining, can be twisted
and tucked under the bun.
Do the same thing with the other braid.
Now we are done with the back, so it's time for the front hair. We went with a side parting.
Back comb the front section until you reach the middle. Then place the tikka in the centre
and secure it in place with bobby pins.
Once the tikka is in place, take the remaining hair that was supposed to be on that side
and backcomb is over.
Do the same thing on the other side. Backcomb then pin it all in place towards the back.
And here is the completed hairstyle.
We are going to place the dupatta such that the embroidery boundary is where the doughnut
starts
You would arrange the dupata depending on what your client wants and the style of their
dupatta. We pinned one side near the shoulder, to take the weight away from the head.
We are take U shaped pins and pining at the embroidery boundary, so the pins become invisible.
U can't really see the pins but it's nice and secure.
And then arrange the rest of the dupata however it looks nice, once again depending on the
style and your clients needs.
I hope you found this tutorial useful, apologise for my sleepy voice. Please tell me what you'd
like to see next, a makeup tutorial, a more detailed dupatta tutorial or another hair
tutorial. And don't forget to join me ok facebook and Instagram for updates on future videos.
Thanks so much for watching.
