Welcome to 24 SEVEN, a week in the life of the Prime Minister of Canada and more….
On Thursday, Prime Minister Harper was in Mexico where he just wrapped up bilateral visits and the North American Leaders Summit.
On the way home, he did interviews with Bloomberg News and the Wall Street Journal.
And there was lots of cheering when the PM used the plane’s intercom to let everyone know the Canadian women’s hockey team had just beat the Americans for Gold!
On Friday, it was the Men’s team’s turn to make us proud. The PM and his family watched the Men’s team defeat the Americans by a score of 1-0.
Later, he called Sochi to congratulate curler Brad Jacobs and his Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario team on their Gold medal,

Later, Laureen Harper took part in a Bust-a-Move fitness fundraising event for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation.
On Saturday, Health Minister Rona Ambrose dropped the puck to launch The Play Exchange…
an active-living challenge in partnership with Canadian Tire, that will ask Canadians to come up with creative ideas on how we can all become more active.
Sunday morning the entire country was glued to the television as the Canadian men beat the Swedes for Olympic hockey gold.
Monday, Laureen Harper was on CTV to judge a cupcake contest to benefit National Cupcake Day for Humane Societies, a national fundraiser for animal welfare charities.

Charity was also the focus on Tuesday when Ontario MPs Pat Brown and Bernard Trottier raised $15,000 for the “Put Cancer on Ice” tournament, in memory of Senator Doug Finley, who died of cancer last year.
Later, the Prime Minister met with Ukrainian-Canadian leaders to announce that Canada will send a high-level delegation to Ukraine, led by Minister John Baird.

On Wednesday Justice Minister Peter MacKay and Public Safety Minister Steven Blaney
introduced new legislation to crack down on child predators.
