So now you've listed your home and great news. Your agent calls you and says 'I have an offer.'
What do you do from there? Some agents will just give it to you on the phone. Some might
send you an e-mail. I think it's really important to start to engage in a real dialogue. A face
to face meeting is wonderful if you could make it happen. You should have a lot of questions
at that point. Who is my offer from? How many times have they seen the place? Do they have
their mortgage in place? Do they even need a mortgage? When do they want to close? Uh,
are they asking me to do anything special? Are they taking the home as is? There's a
list of questions that can come up, so it's important to start a dialogue and give the
right response to your agent, so they can take it back to the buyer. You want to set
the right tone from the moment the first offer comes in.
