CHRIS MURPHY: Hi. On behalf of Expert Village, this is Chris Murphy. I'm here at the New
York Comedy Club in New York City. Today we're going to talk about how to have a career in
comedy. Okay. To summarize how to have a career in comedy, the first thing you have to do
is take my class. No, sorry. I had to plug it. Take a comedy workshop, do open mics,
do pre-shows, make sure you don't bring 'em all to one show, spread them out, do it at
one club, then have the special event where you bring all your friends, okay, and then
you have a great DVD, learn from comics at a bar who have a lot of experience. Do not
let anybody intimidate you, okay? That's very important out of all of them. Also, what you
want to do is barter for some spots and get stage time on the road. And more important
than anything else, take care of the crowd. If you take care of the crowd, the crowd will
take care of your career. On behalf of Expert Village, thanks for watching.
