So when people come to see our house in CA, I want people to see that sustainability can
be attractive and that sustainability is innovation. That's what we push for everyday when we
come out here and work on this house. We're trying to match the title of the project
to UrbanEden so we're trying to fill in the Eden aspect. What we're doing is we're
enclosing the back porch with the Eden aspect by putting a garden that's approximately
seven feet tall, allowing plants to enclose the space instead of just putting a fence
around the house. And so, you're going to have these lush plants that vary from edible
plants to plants that are going to smell during the fall, so that when you're sitting outside
in the nice cool climate, you get these nice rich experiences around your house that you
might not get on your everyday experience. The basic concept behind our vertical garden
is that it's a modular design; people can implement this design at home. Our system
is these buckets that are called Wall Garden system. And so, these screw onto these wood
strips, and the wood strips attach to metal beams that we run between our columns. The
water just flows from bucket to bucket as it trickles down. You can either take the
bucket on or off, as you please, replace the plants if you have to. It's up to you how
you want to do it.
