Hello, I'm Lizzie, here at Superior Threads. I want to show you today how to get fun, sparkling
color in your hair without having to go to the salon. Right here you can see in my hair
glitter hair tinsel. Glitter hair tinsel is a size two hair tinsel. Glitter hair tinsel
can be washed, is blow dryer safe, you can use a flat iron on medium heat, and it can
also be curled with a curling iron.
To begin with glitter hair tinsel, you open it with its easy to peel-off wrapper. Start
by cutting a section of the hair tinsel about twice the length of your real hair. It's best
to cut a little longer than expected because you can always trim later. Fold the tinsel
in half and grip the strands about two to three inches from the tinsel bend. Make a
loop with the tinsel, reach through that loop with your other hand, and pull the loose strands
through the loop. You will be then holding a loop in one of your hands.
Pull two to four strands of hair through the thread loop. If you have thick hair, use two
to three. For fine hair, use three to four strands. With the hair in one hand and the
two thread ends in the other, pull side to side, directly away from each other and close
to the head. This will allow the loop to form a knot at the base of the hair roots.
You need to have the knot near the root. If it isn't, adjust before continuing to the
next step. Take the strands of hair and the tinsel and tie a basic knot. Take the two
ends of tinsel and tie one more basic knot, using only the hair tinsel. When tying that
knot, pull close to the base and be careful not to pull hard enough to break the thread.
