Hey guys, it's Frank, one of your modification experts here at ModBargains.com
Today we will be installing some painted reflectors on a BMW 335i M-Sport.
In order to do this installation you will need the following items:
A screwdriver, a heat gun or hair dryer, a bungee cord or some type of strap, a rag or
towel, some type of non abrasive cleaner, and of course, your painted reflectors.
Now the first thing you will need to do, is remove the fender lining by removing three
screws. ( Located at red circles)
Once the screws are out, you can use your bungee cord to hold back the fender lining
from your work area, by going through a screw hole and back to the inside of the wheel well
(as shown).
Next, use a heat gun to soften the glue holding the stock reflector in place.
Use a nice even movement over the area, being careful to not get too close.
Do this for about 60-90 seconds, or until the reflector can be removed easily.
Once you feel movement in the stock reflector, go ahead and push inwards, all over the reflector.
Feel if the top or the bottom of the reflector wants to detach first and go with the natural
tendency of the glue.
Once you feel it loosening, go ahead and pop it out as shown.
Next you will want to remove all of the left over glue residue off of the inside of the
bumper where the painted reflector will go.
Use your cleaner on a rag to wipe away the remainder of the glue so the new reflector
will fit flawlessly.
Once the surface is dry, peel back the sticker protecting the painted reflector and carefully
insert the painted reflector as shown.
Line up the corners and press around the edges to secure the painted reflector in place.
Finally, replace the fender screws, and you are ready to ride.
