Chris Naylor: I was able to refinance my home last year.
I went from an approximate 6% loan down to a 3% loan.
And I did that through an employee credit union.
Which meant that it -- it was over $400 a month that I had.
And it -- I was no longer dealing with a big bank.
I was dealing with a local credit union,
and that was really important.
Because I had six jobs or I have six jobs.
And they looked at all of them.
And verified those incomes to make sure that I wasn't late
on any of my mortgages.
But it is -- it is huge for me.
And being close to retirement, I -- you know,
I am a little worried about the housing market because I would
like to be able to sell my home and cash out on it.
But unfortunately, I can't.
So this -- this has helped me a lot to get through that.
Brian Deese: You know, we need more stories like this.
And this is why we need to have Congress act on
a refinancing plan.
Because for this person, what you see is that $400 a month
makes a big difference.
It makes a difference in terms of them being able to get by.
And it also makes a difference in terms of their local economy
as well.
So this is a good example of why we need action,
and why we need action now.
