TELLY: Hi.
The first time I tried riding my pogo stick,
I fell down a lot.
But I got right back up.
And I kept practicing and practicing, and soon I was
bouncing all over Sesame Street.
Can you tell me about the first time you did something?
BOY: The first time I ever learned to whistle was when I
was about six years old.
And now I can whistle wherever I go.
ELMO: The very first time Elmo played miniature golf, Elmo
couldn't get the ball to go into the little hole.
But Elmo practiced and practiced, and now Elmo is
good, really good!
If Elmo says so himself.
GIRL: The first time we played hide and seek Tiny was hiding,
and then she came out when I came close to her.
And she said, boo!
GIRL: This is the first painting I made.
It was first going to be the sun, like the sun on the
water, but it didn't work out, so I repainted it as a
watermelon.
PRAIRIE DAWN: The very first time I played the piano I was
a little girl and I could not reach all the keys.
But now I am a big girl, and I can reach every
single key on the piano.
Every single one!
Mm-hmm.
GIRL: The first time I played the flute with my daddy, my
daddy would always say to put my hands in the right place.
But I would never know which place, because I didn't know
my rights and my lefts.
BOY: The first time I ever a got to ride a two-wheeler is
when I was five and a half, the same age I am now.
And see, it was kind of hard at first.
But I got used to it.
