Finding the right setup is a decisive factor at the World Rally Championship.
The car suspension is only a part of the setup, but a very important one.
Especially here in México, the first gravel event of the WRC calendar.

And it's gonna start right here in Aguascalientes.

Pretty similar to a rally car.
My job is to take care of all suspension parts.
Our dampers are hydraulic dampers like in a normal road car.
Here in México is the first gravel event of the year and we can check out,
if our updates we made over the winter are working or not.
On our gravel suspension we have many opportunities to adjust the dampers
and also we have different types of springs.
So compared to tarmac suspension the gravel suspension needs to be softer,
because we have much more wheel travel because of the rougher surface we are driving on with rocks and holes and jumps.
The spring for tarmac would be like this.
For sure as a mechanic this job that I do here is the best you can do.
