How's it going? Saku here, with a tutorial on how to connect your Nintendo DS Pokemon
games to Nintendo WiFi Connection to battle, trade, and more- with your friends.
Step 1: Check your router settings.
If you don't have access to it, ask whoever does (like a parent) to help you. Make sure
the security setting is set to WEP password or none.
Connect your DS to your router with the password. (Don't put anything else in ie. DNS, IP)
Step 2: Registering friend codes.
This is how your games can connect.
You can check it in your Pal Pad in the Key Items pocket of your BAG.
If you've used the Nintendo WiFi Connection before, you've already obtained your own FC.
Registering a friend will ask for their FC and their name. (The name will correct itself
later if incorrect)
You can see people you've already registered here as well.
Step 3: Head to a Pokemon Center.
In Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, you head downstairs to the middle counter and talk
to the receptionist there. You'll be prompted to save you game.
With HeartGold and SoulSilver, you also go downstairs and talk to the same receptionist.
Once again, your game will be saved here.
As for Black, White, Black 2, and White 2, the receptionist is upstairs at the middle
counter.
After saving, it will soon connect you to Nintendo WiFi Connection.
Step 4: Pokemon WiFi Club- and what you can do there.
After you've successfully connected, you'll enter this room. You can see your friends
here and talk to them.
The monitor will give you options to choose what you'd like to do.
Voice Chat uses the DS systems mic. to talk with friends. (You can turn the mic. off by
pressing the X button)
Xtransceiver using the camera to video chat. This is for BWB2W2 and will only work on DSi and 3DS.
You can also battle here. Rules can be customized to your liking.
You can battle in many formats.
All rules can be reviewed later before starting a battle.
Trade with your friends, as well.
The room will get larger to accommodate for more friends registered in the Pal Pad.
In Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, and SoulSilver, you can battle, trade, and team
up against opponents in the Battle Frontier, as well as partake in Plaza Game directly
with your friends.
It's a good change of pace from everyday battling.
That's how you connect with your pals in Pokemon. Have fun!
