This week, a community created instagram video for Lexus, and 3 marketing trends you should
not ignore!
Lexus engaged a community of 212 instagramers, instagramees? Instagramerites? 212 Instagramonions
to make a very unique video out of a total of 360 pictures that were individually stylized,
per the photo taker's taste, then produced together into this final piece.
Interestingly, the video has received mixed reviews and not the desired 100,000+ view
virality as many desire, let alone millions. Watch the video, what do you think?
Moving on, Jeff Bullas wrote an article titled "7 Marketing Trends You Should Not Ignore"
- though all 7 are good, we don't have time for that. So here are 3, that really stood
out to us,
#7, Visual marketing - new tools like vine and instagram have marketers scrambling on
new creative projects or endeavors, like Lexus's community instagram video, or Honda's "Vine"
day that we talked about it our last episode. If you haven't seen it, go take look because
this brings us to Jeff's next point:
#5, continuous marketing - this is a tough one but important. Jeff states "Google hates silence"
*Google growling* *scream* *crash*
Not like that...
more like, if you aren't relentless, you get lost in the "web noise." Honda did well, they were
pushing out a whole bunch of Vine videos in a short amount of time, - the ultimate challenge
is if they could do something similar on a regular basis.
#1, content marketing. This is where all the other points come together - if we're not
creating regular, ideally visually stimulating, original content that can engage, educate,
entertain our audience, and even more, keep us at the top of google...
...why aren't we?
No seriously, why aren't we doing this? What? Oh! That's what this is? Who knew!
What are your thoughts? You doing all these points and more?
I'll leave you with a potential tool that can help you with maximizing your efforts
with #1, content marketing - called Boostsuite - helps create a simple to-do list to optimize
your site and blogging efforts so search engines love you and therefore people can actually
find that awesome content.
That's it for this week - share your thoughts below! I'm Alex, with Your Local Studio - video content for the web.
