Cloning course readings in Ares.
This tutorial will show you how to clone course readings in Blackboard using Ares.
If you are not already logged into Ares via your my.ryerson account,
follow the steps as outlined in the first video and
select the course you would like to view.
From the left-hand menu, choose "Add Course Readings".
In addition to adding new course readings,
you will notice that you are given the option
to import items from a previously taught course.
Select the course you want to pull readings from.
Check the readings you want to import
and change the date range for the new course as appropriate.
When complete, click on "Import Items" at the bottom of the screen.
Items imported into the new course will follow the same process as a new request
and will go into the e-reserve staff work queue.
Staff will then verify that the link to the item
is durable and accessible from remote locations.
Copyright permission will also be sought before the scanning of book chapters
or if the journal is not electronically available
from the Ryerson Library collection.
For more information about course readings
take a look at our other videos
or contact the library for additional assistance with Ares.
Thanks for watching our cloning course readings instructional video.
