Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs have today
pointed out: it seems that everyone have forgotten
about the investigation into the M17 crash.
Noone, except Russia, is interested - said Sergey Lavrov.
Meanwhile, today, new facts have come to light
supporting theory that Boeing was shot down,
in Donetsk region, by Air Force of Ukraine SU-25 jet.
Russian engineers have reconstructed the events of
17th July, when Boeing 777 perished, together
with 298 passengers on board.
Evgeny Davidov on findings of their investigation.
- Experts suggest, that the plane was proceeding on
auto-pilot, following a corridor set by traffic controllers.
At this time, a fighter jet of Air Force of Ukraine, that
was flying in the lower echelon in the opposite direction,
climbed steeply, appeared unexpectedly out of
the clouds and opened fire at the cockpit.
The attack lasted just fractions of a second.
-The cockpit was depressurised, because of
the pressure difference the pilot crew lost their
consciousness, then died, hence, the ability
was lost to navigate the plane, to radiocommunicate
with the ground and to send any type of signal.
This explains why the radicommunication was lost
some time before the plane actually crashed.
-Following this, in experts' opinion, the Ukrainian
fighter jet escorts Boeing for approximately 3 mins,
then the pilot aims and releases rockets.
Plane goes into a tailspin.
Russian Union of Engineers indicate, that if such
a large aircraft was shot down by ground-to-air
missile, pilot crew would have had enough time
to alert the Traffic Control Services.
There is still no credible evidence to prove a
ground-to-air missile launch.
-The location of submunitions that have pierced
the fuselage, tells us that it was certainly
an air-to-air missile. And secondly, fragments of
the fuselage show an impact made by aircraft gun.
-Studying the photos from crash site, experts draw
attention to the nature of damage to cockpit and fuselage.
-These holes, these ones, these ones and others
in the other photos, they are approximately
23-30mm in diameter, which is consistent with
weapon that could have been installed on SU-25
and MIG-29 planes, namely an aircraft gun.
-Just before the tragedy, Russian military detected:
a Ukrainian fighter jet climbed sharply toward Boeing.
In experts' opinion, even a fighter jet can destroy such
a relatively easy target from a distance of 2-3 kms.
For now, the results of an investigation by experts
from Holland haven't been released yet, they were among
the first foreigh delegations to arrive on crash site.
It was promised the report would be released in early September
into the cause of a passenger plane crash in Donetsk region.
