This video is going to explain how to print a Self Test page on the HP Photosmart C7280
All-In-One printer. The steps are not the same for all printers.
You can use a self test page if you're having problems with your printer. The self test
page helps you identify if the printer is working. If the printer is working, then the
problem is likely caused by your computer, operating system, or printing software.
The printed self test page also can give you valuable information about when your ink expires,
how much ink you have, and what your printer's serial number is. You can also use the self
test page to test how well something prints out or the quality of the printed stuff coming
out of your printer. This video does not explain how to solve problems
with printing or print quality. This video only shows how to print a test page.
Here's how to print a self-test report from the buttons on the front of your printer.
First, make sure letter, A4, or legal size paper is loaded in the main tray.
Press the Setup button. Press the down arrow to select Print Report,
and then press OK. Press the down arrow to select Self-Test Report,
and then press OK. Your printer will begin to print out the Self
Test Page. Here's a sample of a Self Test Page. If
the self test page printed, you've proven that your printer will work by itself. If
the Self Test Page doesn't look quite right because it's smeared, the wrong color, or
something similar, anything you print from your computer is likely to have the same problem.
Good Luck!
Hope this helps.
