We have always played together in a band called Música Ligeira
with Rodrigo. Then Fabinho talked to Swami and invited Bel.
We had never played with Bel. It was really nice, there was
a great connection. So we proposed: let's do something, Bel.
Let's record something, because it was great.
-And Bel... Wow! -Bel led us to...
Bel surprisingly accepted.
What happened is that I was so happy to work with them,
it was so amazing that I said: let's record an album.
But I was kind of joking, I thought it was never going to happen.
Manga plays cello and the guitar in some songs.
Fabinho plays the viola and ukulele.
And I play the seven-string guitar and the bass.
We already had this idea. Manga, Fabio and I have played together
for many years, many times.
There is also the inspiration from their work in Música Ligeira.
It was really nice, the idea to choose a repertory
from all areas and make a selection with this chamber ensemble.
It's more or less what we do now; Bel defines it as chamber pop.
This repertory is very personal, and precisely because of that,
because we enjoy it, because we enjoy playing these songs,
I think people identify with it. The more we have fun,
the more the audience has fun.
We chose songs that we like, songs that we usually sing in the shower,
songs that would be interesting to hear in this orchestration.
It's a CPM repertory: Cool Popular Music.
You can't gossip, you are being recorded.
