Translation comprises of four phases,
the binding of ribosome to the mRNA,
the elongation of the polypeptide chain,
the translocation of ribosome
and finally termination.
You can use BETT for short.
Through the help of initiator factors,
the small ribosomal subunit
assembles the start codon AUG.
You can remember the codon
with the question "Are u good?".
So the initiator tRNA forms base pairs
with the complementary AUG codon.
The large ribosomal subunit binds,
completing a ribosome.
Translation initiatior complex is formed,
with the use of GTP.
So now the P site contains the initiator tRNA.
and the A site is vacant
for the addition of the next aminoacyl tRNA.
