My name is Siegfred Meier.
I am a record producer/engineer/mixer.
And we are sitting in the tracking room at Beach Road Studios.
This location, I've been here since 2006,
that's when we first build the studio here.
But I've been in this area since I was a young boy.
The building is just under 3000 square feet,
so it is a full fledged facility and we have a very large tracking room.
Nice, high ceilings. You know, good for sound.
Fairly large control room that has the console, the equipment, and the outboard gear,
and lots of seating for the artists, which is important.
There is a kitchen and a hang out space,
then we've got a lounge upstairs, that serves as a meeting place,
also serves as the band hangout area.
Then in the other corner we've got an office and a mastering room,
that I do a lot of mastering work out of.
You know, there is lots of space for people to get out and exercise.
If you want to play a game of catch, or just take a walk towards the lake,
You know, there is just lots of space.
Being out here, there is not a whole lot of distractions,
and the whole point of it is to stay focused, and be creative.
Being in a town like Goderich - it's not small by any means.
When we first built the studio, I had a lot of clients,
and a lot of peers and colleagues, that said
"What are you doing going up there?"
"It's the middle of nowhere,"
Technology had moved in the direction, where, with the internet and shipping,
you can be anywhere you want to be now.
Goderich, to me, it is home.
This is where I grew up.
And it was a logical place to put this space,
but it goes far beyond that, because the area is absolutely beautiful.
The sunsets are incredibly.
The whole area just has such a vibe; such a creative atmosphere.
It is just a beautiful area.
