The Arctic Circle. One of the coldest,
harshest places on Earth. And our destination
as we set out to prove to the world that the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter can handle
just about any job that's thrown at it.
Well what we want to
prove and to achieve is that we have a great product,
and it's a product that works very
well in tough conditions. This is the Arctic Drive.
A brutal real-world driving challenge that will cover 9 days
and over 5,000 km. From Edmonton,
up the entire Alaska Highway into Anchorage, and then north to Coldfoot,
and the rim of the Arctic Circle.
We've got 9 Sprinters here.
Ready to take off.
We're in Edmonton right now and we are heading
to Anchorage, Alaska. You know, I think this is going to be an adventure.
I've already driven this vehicle in the city,
it'll be interesting to see what it's going to do
when it's minus 30 out there. Over the next 9 days,
nine Sprinters will be put to the test. Ice-covered roads. Impossible visibility.
Bone-chilling temperatures.
Will they pass?
Or will the -50° weather freeze them right in their tracks? Next
stop, Fort St. John.
Distance, 640 kilometers.
