okay in this video i will be showing you how to access your EDTHosting.com
control panel account
your control panel account is accessed using your
email address that's on file for the account as well as the password that you've
set up
in your control panel account
if you don't know your credentials
you can click the link to log into the account
and it will take you to a page that will show you a
forgot password confirmation link and then you can enter the details there
to retrieve your lost password Now we'll go back to the home page
and you can login to your control panel account up here. I have a demo account set
up for
people to test with. It's demo@edthosting.com
with password demo
okay, now we're logged into the control panel account you can see all of the demo user
credentials information here
I can go here and change my information or my email address or my
password I can reset from up here too
there's "My Services" that will list out all of the accounts that
are associated with your control panel account
there is a
section for my support tickets where you can open a support ticket or view past support
tickets or responses from our support staff
my invoices will list out any invoices that you might have and show their
status whether it's paid or unpaid
and then you can click the link to view the invoice and it'll take you to a page
where you can
see what is due and actually make the payments online through the
interface there so that's a
handy feature
"My Domains" will list out all of the domains associated with your account if
you have registrations that you've
done through us or transfers that you've transferred to us
and you can access them here and see when they're coming due and what
their status is, manage their DNS information, etc.
there is a
section back here in the home page where it says click here to access your
website control panel
and we're gonna click back because we want to login to the website control panel
and manage features of our account
Then it says in red here click the icon with the green arrow so
that you can go to the website control panel so we're gonna just click
the
default demo one here
and then here's a login link for your control panel
and here's your credentials that are currently associated with that control
panel that allow it to
do the single sign on feature so that you can access it from
your billing control panel, so all of your
accounts can be
grouped under one account if you need to change it
You can
make your password change here to update the link if you need to
but we're going to go ahead and click login
and now we're in our website control panel it opens in a separate window or
separate tab
and from here you can again list out any domains that are associated with
your particular hosting space
you can see the website configuration and make changes to like
to install frontpage server extensions
set your passwords etc
you can manage your FTP accounts
and there's a file manager that allows you to see and
make changes to any of your website content that you'd like to change
and allows you to manage the permissions on the files and
rename files
there's a zip and unzip utility within the file manager that's
useful if you want to create a back up by the entire website
you just come down here and select all of the files
and create a zip file
and then you can download that zip file and have a copy of your entire web site
on your local machine
optionally you can do a restore by
first uploading the file through the upload feature
and then you can unzip it to restore all of your content from a
previous backup
there's a microsoft web app gallery
that's very useful
that has over 100
different applications that are available for you to install with the
one-click install function
everything from Drupal to Joomla to Wordpress
DotNetNuke
all of these things are free and they're available from a one-click install from
within your control panel so it's a very handy feature
back to the
hosting space here
and
I'll show you the rest of the features there's a database feature that allows you to view or edit
your SQL server databases if you have any associated with your account
and you can create new databases on the fly if you need to
and you can manage your MySQL databases as well
and then there's the email manager that allows you to view edit
and add
email accounts to an any of your domains that are associated with this account
there's also scheduled tasks function that allows you to create
scheduled jobs if you need a function to run regularly like let's say a
job that needs to
access a webpage or run against your database or something you can do it
from within the scheduled tasks manager
I hope you enjoyed the tutorial and if you have any questions feel free to give our
tech support guys a call at
toll free (877)455-7108
or you can send us an email or open a support ticket from your control
panel
