Eugene, hello. Please tell us how the Boston attack affects Russian-American relations.
Yevgeny Minchenko, Director General of the International Institute of Political Expertise
I believe that the Boston attack has an extremely negative impact on relations
between the Russian Federation and the United States and relations between Russia and the EU.
Because today we informally hear from the Europeans:
guys, we would have already passed you on the visa-free regime,
but we categorically do not like representatives of the North Caucasus entering without a visa.
They are citizens of Russia, we cannot introduce a special regime for them,
though in fact today very often the representatives of the North Caucasian republics
are denied visas to European countries.
As for the U.S., there is the guilt of the U.S., which has long tried to use Islamic extremism,
first against the Soviet Union, and later against Russia, and the fact
that the representatives of the Russian Federal Security Service warned the U.S. FBI
that the Tsarnayev brothers could belong to the terrorist underground,
and the fact that these warnings actually remained without a reaction and were forgotten is also disturbing.
