If someone came to you and said that something was a shadow of things to come, what would
this mean to you? In Colossians 2:17 we find the Apostle Paul stating this exact phrase.
What did he mean? He was referring to the prophetic nature of the Feast days as we find
in the Old Testament? These times have prophetic value and outline our Father’s plan of salvation
for mankind. I invite you to join me today for an eye-opening message exploring the present
and Prophetic Feasts. Stay tuned…. From the time of the Messiah
to our modern technological age much Bible truth has been lost.
With the melding of foreign philosophies and teachings unknown to the believers of the
first century the early church began a transformation away
from its Hebrew origins. The question we need to ask ourselves is,
just how far did it go? Join us for the next half hour
as we take you on an incredible journey of Biblical understanding as we uncover the
foundation of the Christian faith. Are you ready to Discover The Truth?
I’d like to welcome you to Discover the Truth and say that it’s a blessing to be
with you today. This program is part two of Prophetic Feasts.
As we heard in part one, these times foreshadow Yahweh’s plan for humankind. For example,
as the Passover offered redemption to Israel through the blood of the lamb, it also foreshadowed
redemption to all of mankind through the blood of Messiah.
In Colossians 2:16 Paul explains the prophetic importance of Yahweh’s Old Testament days
of worship. He says, “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect
of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things
to come; but the body is of Messiah (or, as it should read, but the body of Messiah).
Paul says here that these days are a shadow of things to come. What does he mean here
when he says, shadow of things to come?” He’s referring to the prophetic nature of
Yahweh’s Worship. You see even Paul understood in the New Testament that these days were
more than times of worship, that they also expressed the prophetic nature of Yahweh’s
plan of salvation for mankind. With this in mind, let’s now continue where
we left off in part one. We stopped with the Feast of Trumpets. What we do know about this
time, about this feast day? In Leviticus 23:24 we find that’s it’s a time of blowing
of trumpets. It says, “Speak unto the children of Israel,
saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial
of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. Ye shall do no servile work therein: but
ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahweh.
To begin with, notice that this Feast falls on the first day of the seventh month. Now
why is this important? As some of you may know, the Biblical month begins with the crescent
moon, which while not a Sabbath or high day is a time of fellowship and worship. Now the
seventh month is also a special time since it holds or it contains four of the seven
Holy Days as found within the Old Testament. So not only does this Feast coincide with
the new moon, but also ushers in one of the most important months of the Biblical year.
Now how was this day observed in the Old Testament? Number one, it was a day of blowing of trumpets.
Number two, it was a Holy Convocation, which in the Hebrew simply means, a sacred calling
or gathering. And number three, it was a day that Israel was to abstain from work.
Understand that these still apply to those in the Messiah today. So what does this Feast
symbolize or foreshadow in the New Testament? This time foreshadows one of greatest events
that we'll see in our lifetime, possibly; that is the Second Coming of Yahshua the Messiah
and with that the first resurrection. Here's what Paul says in Thessalonians 4:15.
He says, “For this we say unto you by the word of Yahweh, that we which are alive and
remain unto the coming of the Master shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the
Master himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel,
and with the trump of Elohim: and the dead in Messiah shall rise first: Then we which
are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Master
in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Master. Wherefore comfort one another with
these words.” What message do we find here from Paul? We
see a description of Yahshua’s Second Coming and the resurrection of those in Messiah.
Now exactly how will this happen? Yahshua will first descend from heaven with
a voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of Elohim. Now I want to you to notice this
trumpet of Elohim. According to many who study Eschatology or the study of the last days,
the trumpet here is symbolic of this Feast. So most likely we find evidence here that
Yahshua’s Second Advent will occur on the Feast of Trumpets. Now what else happens on
this day? When Yahshua descends from heaven, the dead
in Messiah will rise first to meet him in the clouds. After this, those who are yet
alive will be changed and will also meet the Messiah in the air. And after all of this,
scripture says that we shall forever be with the Master. Friends, can you imagine this
day happening in our lifetime? Can you imagine being changed from flesh to spirit? Can you
imagine being with our Savior forever? This is the promise that this time again foreshadows.
In 1 Corinthians 15:51 we find there how we’ll be changed at Yahshua’s Coming. It says,
“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound,
and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put
on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”
We find here again that a trumpet is mentioned in connection with Yahshua’s coming and
the resurrection of the saints. Matter of fact, it says here that this will happen at
the last trumpet, again symbolizing this Feast. What does Paul say here about the resurrection?
He says that we’ll be changed and that this change will happen in a moment, in a twinkling
of an eye. So literally within a split second, Scripture promises that we’ll be changed.
How will we be changed? We’ll go from corruptible to incorruptible; from mortal to immortal.
As we find within the Greek, we’ll receive unending existence and a state of deathlessness.
This promise of Yahshua’s coming and of the resurrection is a prophetic foreshadowing
of this Feast and is again one reason why this time is so important to understand and
keep. I ask you to stay with us, we'll be back in just a short moment.
You have a name, but how about your creator. Does it matter what you call you Father in
Heaven? Some say they don't use His name because He has many names, or His name has been lost
and it doesn't matter anyway because they don't speak Hebrew. This is all just man's
reasoning and a failure to understand this critically important Bible truth which impacts
salvation itself. In the eye-opening booklet "Your Father's Name" we take you back to the
origins of the Hebrew language to show why His name Yahweh and His son's name Yahshua
are accurate and true. We also explain how variations of the Name do not hold up to the
facts. And most important of all Yahweh tells us His people will know His name. Learn why
using His name is key to proper worship and why use of any other does not have His blessing.

Now the next Feast within the Word is the Day of Atonement. This day is special for
many reasons; notwithstanding the fact that Israel found forgiveness from their sins on
this day. We find this in Leviticus 16:29. We read,
“And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on
the tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether
it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth among you: For on that day
shall the priest make an atonement for you, to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from
all your sins before Yahweh. We find here that the Day of Atonement or
as it is called in Hebrew, Yom Kippur, is observed on the 10th day of the 7th month.
Now what was Israel explicitly commanded here to do on this day? They were to afflict their
souls; in what way, through fasting. Now what is fasting, it’s abstaining from both food
and drink to show devotion to the one we worship. It also says here that on this day Israel
found atonement or cleansing from their sins. This word “atonement” comes from the Hebrew
kaw-far' and is a primitive root meaning to cover. We know from the New Testament that
the sacrificial system in the Old was only able to cover sin -- it could not wash away
or completely remove it as we find in the New. Now what does this day prophetically
foreshadow? While many believe that this day foreshadows
Yahshua’s death and our atonement, and I agree that we see many parallels between the
two, it possibly foreshadows something else. The challenge with Yom Kippur symbolizing
Yahshua’s death is that it was on the Passover that Yahshua the Messiah died and shed blood
for mankind. In other words, this prophetic fulfillment has already occurred with the
Passover. With this being the case, reason would say
then that this Feast must foreshadow something other than Yahshua’s death.
On this day in the Old Testament, we find that Israel took a scapegoat and laid upon
it all the sins of Israel. Now what’s intriguing about this scapegoat is the fact that it wasn’t
sacrificed, like the Messiah for instance in the New. Scripture says that a fit man
was to take this scapegoat into the wilderness and to remove from the camp. This scapegoat
that we find in the Old Testament might possibly foreshadow Satan the Devil. In Revelation
20:1 we find that Satan will be cast into a bottomless pit for the duration of the 1000
year millennial kingdom. It says, “And I saw an angel come down from
heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid
hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand
years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him,
that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled:
and after that he must be loosed a little season.
So just as a fit man removed the scapegoat into the wilderness, we find here that a mighty
angel will cast Satan into a bottomless pit where he will again remain for the duration
of the 1000 year millennial kingdom. This again prophetically seems to correspond to
what we find in the Old Testament with this scapegoat or as we find in the Hebrew - "***".
We know that this also chronologically occurs after the return of Yahshua the Messiah, which
again is foreshadowed by the Feast of Trumpets. So in this way it all seems to fit together.
So in essence, the scapegoat in the Old Testament prophetically foreshadows the removal of Satan
from mankind for the 1000 year millennial kingdom. Now what about the next Feast, the
Feast of Tabernacles? We find a mention of this time in Leviticus 23:34.
It says there, “Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this
seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto Yahweh. On the first day shall
be an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. (verse 41) And ye shall keep
it a feast unto Yahweh seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations:
ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that
are Israelites born shall dwell in booths: That your generations may know that I made
the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt:
I am Yahweh your Elohim. Now this Feast if similar to the Feast of
Unleavened Bread, which as we heard in part one, is a seven-day Feast. We find here that
this Feast begins on the 15th day of the 7th month. We also see that this first day is
a holy convocation, referring to a sacred meeting or coming together. So again this
Feast requires that we come together to worship Yahweh, our Father in Heaven.
We also see here that we’re commanded to stay in booths for seven days. This word comes
from the Hebrew "sook-kaw" and refers to a temporary dwelling. So staying at our homes
during the time is not an option. Yahweh says again that we’re to have a holy convocation
and that we’re to stay in booths for seven days.
This fall will mark my 35th Feast and without a doubt this is always the highlight my year.
Not only is this a command from our Father in Heaven that we’re to do and follow, but
this is also a taste of His kingdom. Matter of fact, this is exactly what this Feast likely
foreshadows. What do we know about this Kingdom? We know that it represents a 1000 duration
in which our Savior will rule this earth with those from the first resurrection. During
this time, Yahweh’s commandments will govern this world and with that all of mankind. We
also know that the main purpose of His kingdom is to restore righteousness to this earth
and to prepare it for the coming of our Father in Heaven and His golden city, New Jerusalem.
In Micah 4:1 we find a prophecy about this kingdom. The prophet says, “But in the last
days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of Yahweh shall be established
in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall
flow unto it. And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain
of Yahweh, and to the house of the Elohim of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways,
and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of Yahweh
from Jerusalem. And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off;
and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation
shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. But
they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them
afraid: for the mouth of Yahweh of hosts hath spoken it."
We're going to go into this passage and explain the meaning and the intent and the prophetic
importance. Stay tuned, we'll be right back! You have a name, but how about your creator.
Does it matter what you call you Father in Heaven? Some say they don't use His name because

Welcome back! What did the prophet mean when he said that
the mountain of the house of Yahweh shall be established in the top of the mountains?
In the Bible “mountain” represents Kingdom or nation; so we find here that Yahweh’s
kingdom will be established or exalted above all other kingdom of this world. We also see
here that Yahweh’s commandments will go out to all peoples and all nations. Unlike
today, Yahweh Word will be the guiding light and standard of morality. No longer will man
dictate what is moral and not moral, instead Yahweh’s Word will be that measure. Since
we know that Yahweh’s laws will govern this world in the future, should we not be obeying
them now? Especially since we know that the Messiah and His Apostles also observed and
kept them in the New Testament. We also find here that man will no longer
engage in war, instead it says that they will beat his swords into plowshares, and their
spears into pruninghooks. It also says here that every man will sit under his own vine
and fig tree. So not only will Yahweh’s laws govern this earth, but we find that mankind
will go back to an agricultural state, as it was in the Garden of Eden. So in the kingdom,
life will change drastically from what we see today.
No longer will we have immorality, like abortion; no longer will we see the atrocities of war;
and no longer will man be free to live a life of sin without consequences. Now we have one
remaining Feast Day, which the Bible calls the 8th Day or the Last Great Day. We find
this in Leviticus 23:36. It says, “Seven days ye shall offer an offering
made by fire unto Yahweh: on the eighth day shall be an holy convocation unto you; and
ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yahweh: it is a solemn assembly; and ye
shall do no servile work therein. This Feast is the 8th day, following the seven
days of the Feast of Tabernacles. We also see here that this time is a holy convocation
and again prohibits all servile work. Now possibly the most important aspect of this
Feast is that is marks the end of Yahweh’s days of worship. Now in the same way, this
Feast more than likely foreshadows the last and final judgment of mankind. As the Feast
of Trumpets again symbolizes Yahshua’s Second Coming and the first resurrection, the Last
Great Day foreshadows the final judgment and resurrection of mankind.
Now what do we find in Scripture? In Revelation 20:11 John of Patmos provides a prophecy of
this judgment. We read, “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from
whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And
I saw the dead, small and great, stand before Elohim; and the books were opened: and another
book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things
which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead
which were in it; and death and the grave delivered up the dead which were in them:
and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and Hades were cast
into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written
in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
This time is called the Great White Throne Judgment and the second death and will be
the final judgment for mankind. Now who will be part of this judgment -- everybody that’s
ever lived upon this earth, except for those who were found worthy of the first resurrection.
In Revelation 20:4 we see that those in the first resurrection will be exempt from the
second death. Now what will be the standard that Yahshua will use to judge mankind?
In verse 12 it says that all be judged based on their works. Many believe today that because
of Yahweh’s grace that we shouldn’t be concerned about works. Matter of fact, many
view this as a form of legalism. Understand though, our views and opinions they don't
really mean a whole lot, what matters does they conform to Scripture. Scripture says
that all of mankind will be judged based on their works, based on how they lived.
How are we living today? How are we living based on Yahweh's truth? Are we living as
we should? Are we following the Word of our Father in heaven? Are we striving to follow
in the footsteps of our Savior? If we answered “no” to any one of these questions, then
we must ask, why and what we can do to mitigate this shortcoming. Understand that life is
too short to neglect the Word of our Father in Heaven.
Friends we need to decide now whether we’re going to fully live for our Father in Heaven
and Savior, going halfway is simply not enough. Yahshua said this to the Laodiceans assembly,
“I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”
Friends our Savior’s not going to accept those who are lukewarm or dapple with the
Truth. Today is the day that we wake up and realize the promise that sets before us now.
Yahweh is calling you to His Truth. He wants you in His Kingdom. He wants you to repent
and come to Him. What we do now will determine what we receive
in the life to come, which again is a foreshadowing of Yahweh plan of salvation that we find through
His Feast days. So friends let’s make it our goal to stop what we’re doing and live
once and for all for our Father in Heaven. I thank you for joining me today. I would
