All right. This is my second video blog and it's kind of our second date. I put on makeup
for you and I put on a pretty dress. Actually, I did all of those things today anyway. It
might still make this seem more put-together or something like that. I'm going to try my
best to speak a little slower. It's not because I'm nervous; I just talk really fast. So,
it's Mother's Day. Yay! And something that especially a lot of the moms have suggested
is that we do a little bit on stretch marks. I'm 28 years old. I've never been pregnant.
I don't have any children. And I still have stretch marks. I'm only 5'4" but I grew really,
really fast as a kid and I was kind of a heavy kid so I've had these stretch marks on the
tops of my arms--I don't know if you can see them on here-- They're darker in real life.
Probably most of you won't notice. Unless you're 14 and mean and want to tell me that
in gym class. Most of you probably aren't mean like that. I also have stretch marks
around the *** area here. And here. I also have some on my thighs and stomach. I'm not
going to show you. A little bit awkward. So yeah, it's something I know a lot of moms
are worried about but it's something that we all deal with at some point. And it's just
not that big of a deal. I'm not going to tell you how to hide them. I'm not going to tell
you how to get rid of them. I don't even know. I'm not sure if that's even really possible,
and why would we bother to do that? So I'm just going to say that, it's kind of cheesy,
but I think our skin tells a story. Our whole body tells a story. And at least for me, my
story includes that I put on makeup today. It tells you that I'm a little bit girly and
a little bit vain. Right? And I'm okay with that. And I enjoy that. I have scars on my
knees from roller derby. I tried to video that a couple times and just kept screwing
up my video, so I'm not going to show you. So I've got scars on my knees from being kind
of a "rough girl," which is totally different from what you see up here. So it's all part
of my story. All of my tattoos tell a story. This one--I got this one the day that I thought
I was getting laid off from my job. It tells you that I wear my heart on my sleeve. This
one is a long story, so I'm not telling you this story. I've got one on my back that tells
you I'm a pacifist. So our tattoos, they tell you something. And our stretch marks are just
a part of that story. For me, they tell you that I was a tall kid, I grew fast, my skin
stretched. If you have stretch marks because you have kids, that is just the coolest story
that I can imagine. Why would you want to hide that? I mean, you show your pictures
of your kids to everyone. You're so proud of them. Why would you want to hide that on
your body? So that's all I have to say about stretch marks right now. If you have something
more you'd like me to talk about, let me know. If I can't help you out, I will see if I can
find a really cool person to talk about that. So happy Mother's Day. And try not to worry
about those stretch marks, okay? All right. Love you guys. Bye!
