VINCE BABKIRK: We have students who tell us that
they could get their education
in their major that they're interested in somewhere else but when they came to the
University of Oregon and walked through the campus,
they fell in love with the campus and how comfortable it is,
and that's really what we strive for, to make it safe for them, comfortable
and a place where they enjoy being
that helps them in their studies.

The crew we have doing the landscape, we have 11 landscapers, that cover about
300 acres of total area,
around the campus. They're the ones who do the actual work, and the 11 people we
have here
I would put against any groundskeeping crew in any other university. We get a lot of compliments
from people who visit different universities and have been at different
universities saying how wonderful our campus is.
President Lariviere when he first came to the campus couldn't believe what
we do with the number of people that we have, and that speaks to the quality of our
groundskeepers.
GREGG COUMAS: I've worked outdoors my whole life.
I love being outdoors. I could not stand
to be in a cubicle. I love plants.
I like to go home at night
thinking my area looks pretty good.
It makes me at peace.
I feel responsible.
I feel part of the campus
in that sense.
