I seek refuge with Allah from the Shaitan, the ***.
With the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Peace and blessings and mercy of Allah to all of you.
Ladies and gentleman, welcome.
The topic is what Al-Quran says about Hadees translated as the event.
Before I speak what the Quran has to say about the Hadees, the event,
I would like to tell you something which most of the people in the audience
or mostly the people know already
existing understanding of the Hadees.
The general concept of the word Hadees
in the environment I will just discuss few things about it
and then I will discuss as to what the Quran has to say about this word Hadees.
The general understanding of the word Hadees
is not being translated,
it is being kept in Arabic
and when one person says about Hadees,
people think immediately that they are referring to the sayings
and the practices of the prophet,
when the word Hadees is being used.
The word Hadees when used
generally people think it is referring to the sayings
which Arabic means qaol
and the practice of the Prophet, Hadees means this.
It means this.
Or it means sunnah,
which Arabic word sunnah means the practice.
Sunnat of the Prophet would be practice of the Prophet,
sunnah the word does not mean the practice of the Prophet,
sunnah the word means the practice,
Hadees means event.
These are the meanings of these two words.
But whenever in our society, culture all around the world, in the Muslim society
when the word Hadees is being used
by any non-Muslim, any person
in a Muslim society we think that he is referring to the saying or the qaol
or the sunnah, the practice of the Prophet,
this is generally understanding of all the so-called Muslim world.
So there are about six authentic Hadees in the sunni school of thought
and there may four or some other numbers
in the shia sect of the school of thought of the Hadees, books of ahadees.
The people who are involved in the studies
they know their references and I don’t want to go into detail because the topic is not such. The topic is what the Quran has to say about the Hadees,
not what the people in the understanding of the world is.
So all the sunni school of thought people
reject all the Hadees or the sayings recorded in the shia sect,
everybody and the shia sect people reject all the ahadees or the sayings of the Prophet recorded in the sunni books of Hadees.
This is the first contradiction among the schools of thoughts
between the sunni sect and the shia sect.
The Hadees’ themselves are being rejected by the people.
Secondly the people who have been collecting the ahadees,
they themselves are rejecting
the ahadees saying that these are not authentic Hadees or the sayings
but they have selected among from so many number some Hadees,
so this contradiction of the Hadees is from the day the Hadees book started
and still there is a contradiction people are contradicting the ahadees
that you believe in the Hadees this is not sahi
we have to see this chain and all the authenticity that is being practicing going on.
So I was just trying to introduce to you what already you know
about the sayings and Hadees of the Prophet.
Then there is a rule, there are many rules to verify
that these book of Hadees is being authentic or not authentic.
There are many rules
and one of the rule which I and all the schools of thoughts will agree
that any Hadees or any saying or any sunnah or the practice of the Prophet
if it is not in connection or submissive to the ayaats of Allah, Quranic ayaats
we will reject the Hadees.
The Quran comes first as the authentic book of Allah,
as the truth of Allah
and if the Hadees is below the ayaats of Allah
and agrees to whatever the Quran is saying already,
we will accept that Hadees.
This is the most important rule applied by the scholars of the Hadees
that we have to take this as a criteria
and since Quran is the furqan, the criteria
so we can judge the ahadees, the collection of the people scholars who have collected that
by making Quran as the criteria to judge
that this Hadees if we relate it to the Prophet
is it verifying any event verifying by the Quran itself.
If the Quran verifies,
we can say this Hadees or this event related to the Prophet is true.
But we must not forget,
I repeat we must not forget
that the Quran the furqan is the criteria to judge the Hadees.
The Quran furqan is the criteria to judge the Bible,
the Quran the furqan is the criteria to judge the scientific events
or scientific researches that has been taking place in the world
and they come and arrive to a truth or a fact.
This fact is being confirmed by the Quran
then we agree that this fact is accepted as the true.
So the Quran, the criteria, the furqan is always a judgment coming from Allah in all fields of life.
In all fields of life
if there is a statement in science
or in history or in geography or in Hadees or in Bible or in bhagwat geeta
or in geeta or in avasta anywhere in the world,
if it has to be aligning with the Quranic ayaat
we accept we agree that this thing is true or factual.
But the Quran is always the criteria,
the furqan to judge everything in the world.
But we must not forget that this we have to make this a zaroor,
because the Quran itself says that Quran is furqan, the criteria, the criterion.
So now another thing is
that if you ask any person,
I just now said something,
I would like to give a demonstration
because this you must understand, very simple.
This I hold, there are many books of ahadees,
I am just referring one book I hold in my hand is Bukhari Hadees. This book.
So they will say I hold this Quran,
they will say the Quran is on the top,
this is the authentic criteria.
The Hadees is below the Quran.
I mean just look at the demonstration, it is very important, it is very simple
but you must understand what I am saying.
So Quran is the judge,
it is judging the ahadess
anything write in it anything we accept or we reject is based on this.
We believe in Quran, we accept the Hadees.
We believe in Quran we accept the Hadees.
We believe in the Quran, we reject the Hadees.
But this is the criteria.
So if you ask these people,
they say yes we agree.
But then I brought the Bible.
Where should I put the Bible now.
Here or here? Come on, No.
what is being understood
…..excuse me…yes…no what is being understood in the world is this book above.
It should be below the Quran
but generally we bring unconsciously above the Quran.
Saying there are recordings in the Bible
which is tahreef some of the biblical recordings we have to accept
and now the Quran has clarified the statements within the Bible
so we accept the Bible,
but you don’t make this Bible on below the Quran you make this Bible on the top.
It is me myself is saying we have to bring and Hadees downwards under the Quran.
You cannot understand
because there are scholars that say the Bible is clarifying many things in the Quran which are not clarified, the Bible it gets clarified.
So Bible becomes on the top.
So there are accounts and the events of the various messengers and the prophets before Mohammad p.b.u.h. era,
they say that this Bible there are recordings of Ibraheem A.S.
and Moosa A.S. and Issa A.S. are in the Bible.
It is in the Bible, so we can clarify the Quranic ayaats by the Bible
and scholars have done it.
So you must understand when I say Quran on the top, means Bible is below
and from the Quran we have to judge the Bible.
We know the criteria of the Quran, we judge the Bible.
So the Bible and Hadees goes below,
but you must….this simple understanding, the moment I say the Quran is the criteria
to judge the Bible and Hadees and other books,
so they say yes we agree,
but then I say then we must know first the Quran,
we must first know the Quran,
to understand the Bible statement and the Hadees statement.
Now immediately the same person will say no, no, no you can understand the Quran,
you cannot understand the Quran,
the explanation of the Quran is in the Hadees and the Bible.
So now you are speaking two tongues.
The moment I say the Quran is the criteria to judge the Hadees,
the Quran is the criteria to judge the Bible,
you must know any topic, any essence from the Quran first
then you can judge the Hadees,
then you can judge the Bible
in that, but the moment you say yes we agree to that
and we start off then we start reading the Quran
so we can understand the rule or some aspect from the Quran
so that we can judge the Hadees,
we can judge the Bible.
They say you cannot understand the Quran.
You cannot because you have to know first the tradition the Hadees first
and then you can understand the Quran.
So this statement is not true.
The true statement is among these two statements
you cannot understand the explanation of the Quran
of the various prophets is from the Bible
according to some people
and the explanation of the era of Mohammad s.a.w. era is in the Hadees.
So I am telling you the Quran explains the era of Moosa A.S.
the Quran explains the era of Ibrahim A.S.,
the Quran explains the era of Nooh A.S.
and if there are similar stories or narrations in the Bible
it will confirm and it will reject
that this is wrong about Nooh A.S.
this is not sahi, good, authentic, about Ibraheem A.S., Moosa A.S., Issa A.S., Nooh A.S.
This is the criteria to be established in all times,
not the other way round that you can never ever understand this book
until you understand the Bible or you understand the ahadees
that will clarify the ayaats, it is not like such.
So this what I was trying to demonstrate
so you must understand that these books and all the other books of the world
have to come below the Quran
to understand the explanation of the Hadees or what.
So this I was trying to demonstrate so we must understand there are two opinions
that Quran is the criteria to judge all the books of the world.
No book is explaining the Quran,
because Quran is the word of Allah 100% factual statements are recorded.
The other human statements of any book of history
have got errors, human errors.
There is a fact being established by science,
it is also has to verified from the Quran.
The science does not verify the ayaats, the ayaats verify the science.
The ayahs are not to be verified by anything.
The ayahs themselves are verifying the other books statements
within that book, true or false.
So this is the first of all I was trying to explain the situation in the world
what is going on.
Then secondly there is another ayah in the Quran which most of the people know this. Before I come to the topic,
I am just delivering few points and that ayah you can note down is al-baqarah 2, ayah 282.
It is the biggest or the largest in the Quran.
The largest if somebody asks you which is the largest ayah in the Quran,
this is the largest ayah.
Surah al-Baqarah 2 and ayah 282,
I am not going to read the whole ayah.
I am just going to read a point a few words so that you can understand
why I am reading and what is the implementation of the ayah.
Why I am trying to explain
and that refers to, it starts with this
Arabic
has been translated by various scholars differently
and a conceptual could be any agreement or any contract or any deal,
anything that has to be established which is established fact between parties,
between any party if I want to have a contract with somebody,
we write it down, a judgment is being established between among us
that you agree to this, I agree to this,
lets write it down this judgment
write it down because Allah says so in the ayat
Arabic
so whenever a judgment is to be established
between people to be agreed upon,
there must be witnesses of two men,
witnesses of two men,
and if two men are not available then one man and two women
and further in this ayah the same ayah I read for you
So now the whole ayah you can go and read it up in your house.
From this ayah we have come to know for any establishment of any judgment
agreed upon by any people,
that document is to be valid only if the two witnesses are signed
or there are two witnesses on that document.
That written document must have two witnesses men,
not one man, one man is not a witness on any document.
It is always written by Allah is two men,
a document should be verified or being evident is two men.
And if there are not two men, then one man and two women
then the validity of the document should be considered as agreed upon.
That men have agreed upon
because this we have agreed.
So all the tradition of the Hadees that has been recorded
every individual one man is compiling the Hadees, sayings of the Prophet.
The sayings, the sunnah of Prophet
is recorded by one man.
So all of the people that agreed
on that document that the book that they have
should be signed by two people,
exactly they should agreed upon.
If they had not done it in the time,
so every human one person have compiled these books,
one person and on that one person, you are agreeing upon
and Allah does not allow.
Allah says that a valid document should have two witnesses on it.
If there are no two men,
then one man and two women
on any written document.
Any judgment that has to be established as true or false,
the witnesses should be two men, or one man and two women.
So this is the situation of the situation of the environment
of the Hadees as understood by most of the people in the world.
So now we will see what the Quran has to say about the Hadees itself, the word.
But before I speak about the Hadees,
I will give you few more things to understand.
There are few Arabic words
which I would like to give you the meanings of those words
which are not mostly translated.
First itself the Hadees,
which means in Arabic the event, hadsa, hadasa,
the root letter is hadasa,
an incident or event took place.
And that if event is been written down
or being narrated would be news
in a way or a prophecy.
But whatever the event that took place,
if you write it down, it is Hadees.
Hadees means any event that took place.
So now then there is a word, in the Arabic word torah,
most of the people know the word Arabic means torah
but what the word means they do not know.
So the word torah means the law.
Torah means in Arabic law.
Hadees means event.
Qaol, qaol means saying.
These words you must understand to understand the lecture
and there is a word Al-Kitab means the book.
In the Quran, Quran means the reading.
Iqra, read, Quran means the reading, Al-Kitab means the book. The specific book.
Torah means the law.
Hadees means an event.
Sunnah means the practice.
Qaol means the saying.
So what we know already
I have told you, now what these words how will they occur in the Quranic ayat
we will discuss this.
So first of all I will read an ayah
which explains the basic about this book,
about the book, I hold in my hand Quran of course,
but Quran means the reading,
the ayah that I read is Quran,
but it is written down on a paper and anything written down on anything is the book.
Everybody knows that everything written down is a book.
So now this book I am referring to the book of Allah of course.
Reading I read the ayahs as the Quran
first of all what is the book, what is this book.
So this understanding I will read a portion of ayah surah aal-e-Imran 3 and 7 ayah.
I will stop here and then I will continue later on.
Now it is referring to the book.
Allah says that
Arabic
It is He who has revealed over you the book.
This I hold in my hand is a book
which contains ayaats, it contains ayaat.
Allah says that it is He Allah who has revealed over you the book Al-Kitab,
the written material, the written ayaats, the written form.
It is revealed by Allah over the messenger Prophet.
In it, in the book,
Arabic
in the book are ayaats, verses, ayaats, signs, mahkumaat, governing ayaats
which governs mankind.
So this book contains ayaats,
these ayaats, mahkumaat in which are governings,
they are the government which you have to govern yourself in the ayaat,
ahkamaat of the book.
There are ayaats which contains mahkumaat or governing ayaats
which you have to govern yourself in the book.
Arabic
the ayahs that govern yourself that is the mother of the book,
which is the mother of the book, those ayaats in the book of Allah
where the ayaats are governing
which are their ahkaamaat or the governance is there
which you have to govern yourself are the ahkamaat or the mahkumaat
or the governing ayaats by virtue you have to govern.
These are the mother of the book.
The same whole book
contains certain mahkumaat.
The whole of the book contains certain mahkumaat or governing ayaats.
And these governing ayaats
are the mother of the book of the same book.
Arabic
so we have to know what is the name given to that mother of the book.
The book is the whole book
and in the book
Arabic
we have revealed to you over you the book,
in it are the ayaats,
Arabic
in it are the ayaats, mahkumaat, the governing ayaats
Arabic
and in this book are the governing ayaats
this is the mother of the book.
So first of all we have to know that is the mother of the book.
You go to next page
and will come back again.
Now in this ayah if you will note in the Arabic
there is a word
Arabic
and how can they take you as a governor
and the torah, the law is near them.
In the torah, in the law is the hokum of Allah
or the government of Allah
or the ahkaamaat of Allah,
in the torah, in the law.
In the torah, in the law.
In the torah, in the law contains the government of Allah.
So now if I ask you in the whole book,
this I hold in my hand is the book of Allah, contains
Arabic
it contains the ayaats that are governing,
that contains the hokum of Allah,
ayaat are containing the hokum or the government of Allah
so that is, what is that, torah, the law, of the book
which will be referred as the mother of the book.
The book I hold in my hand.
The book I hold in my hand contains the torah, the law,
all the ayaats that are giving hokum
or the ayaats that are containing the hokum hukumallah,
these ayaats that are containing the hokum of Allah
are the torah, the mother of the book.
