STATE POLICE
SUPERINTENDENT
COLONEL STEVEN
O'DONNELL TELLS US
THERE HAVE BEEN
NUMEROUS REPORTS OF
HOMES BEING
BURGLARIZED --
SPECIFICALLY IN THE
MISQUAMICUT BEACH
AREA. THE BURGLARIES
HAPPENED WHILE
RESIDENTS WERE
EVACUATED.
"Some people didn't leave,
because
that's their right to do that,
some
people left. So the people that
stayed, some could travel
through
the neighborhood, the houses,
some
of them wide open, the
businesses
wide open 'cause of the storm.
We're told the first couple of
days
some people did do that, so the
police presence from Westerly
Police to State Police, the
National
Guard went down there to stop
that.

STORM-RELATED
