You know guys, we should all go on an amazing vacation. Yeah, we totally should but, where
should we go? We should go to, EGYPT!! Wait, guys, what's in Egypt? First of all, the Nile
River is in Egypt, duh! Oh, I've got one ready? Gabi, do you want to hear a joke? No. Sounds
like you're IN DE NILE!! HAHAHAHAAHA!! What? Let's go, that was funny. Hey guys! Hey guys,
did you know that the length of the Nile is approximately 6,650 kilometers which is also
4,130 miles, I've also heard that the Nile is the longest river in the world. Wow that's
really cool, does it look like I care? OMG its so hot out here, its burning! HAHAHA Oh
sorry. Uh....okay, speaking of the sun, did you guys know that in the sun-drenched land
of Egypt, the chief god was the sung god during the Old Kingdom? Egyptians worshiped a sun
god named Re and by the Middle Kingdom, they associated Re with another god, Amon, and
called this great lord of gods Amon-Re. Oh god, here we go with this one now. Heeheeheehee.
Actually, a lot of what we know today about Egyptian religion comes from inscriptions
on monuments and wall paintings in tombs, these inscriptions describe Egyptians appealing
to the diving forces that they believed rule this world -> the Afterlife. Egyptians believed
that the afterlife would be much like life on Earth, so they buried their dead with everything
they would need for eternity. That's why we always see mummies with things in their hands
and valuables around their bodies and tombs. Hey Victoria, go see if there is a mummy down
there. Down where? Down there! Wow, look at all these beautiful statues! Woah, you actually
have a hobby? Shut Up, no seriously, look at these wall paintings in the tombs and temples.
Most of theses pictures are of the gods or pharaohs. The arts of ancient Egypt include
statues, wall paintings in tombs and temples, just like these. The literature includes hymns
and prayers to gods, proverbs and love poems. That is really cool....no. No, for real, listen.
They also wrote books on great battles and stuff! Great battles like this? I guess kinda
like that....they also had roles in government and society and special people who made these
official decisions. During the Old Kingdom, Egyptian kings, later called pharaohs, organized
a strong centralized state. They also played key roles in government and religion. Egyptians
believed each pharaoh was aged. He had absolute power, owning and ruling all the land in the
kingdom. The pharaohs were seen as human as well as divine gods. The people expected pharaohs
to behave morally and judged the pharaohs for their deeds. YAAAAWWWWNNN!! did these
pharaohs do anything cool?? Yea, actually , in Egypt there is a person called a vizier
and that person supervised the government; a pharaohs of the Old Kingdom ruled by a bureaucracy
which was type of government that has different levels of authority. Usually, back in ancient
times, the kings ruled with absolute power. Wait, do you mean a bureaucracy? What the hell is a bureaucracy?
It's pretty cool actually, it;s a type of government that....Never mind I don't care. Whatever. Hey Gabi, remember
when we pushed you into the Nile? Yes. So did you guys know that the Nile River was
used for many occasions during a usual day of an Egyptian. The Nile River was used by
people and animals for drinking water during long journeys and transportation. The land
of Egyptians was also called the "Blacklands." KKz so I'm bored lets go home lolz. 'MURICA!!!!
