The sun is with us today. Tonight we called in Bodø and Ørnes.
We are about to cross the Arctic Circle again, southward this time.
The globe that was built on the Vikingen island to mark the Arctic Circle was swept away by a storm.
Only its base remains now.
Hestmannøy, or 'Horseman Island', represents a petrified centaur who allegedly shot an arrow...
towards the island of Lakamøya, piercing the hat of the king of Brønnøy.
Nesna, our next port of call, is hidden among the islands.
The very short stop does not allow us to go ashore.
Already Midnatsol is leaving the dock towards Sandnessjøen where we will arrive in 1 hour.
Midnatsol docks at Sandnessjøen. The doors open while we are still manoeuvering.
As the captain is watching, passengers disembark to enjoy the 1-hour stop.
We resume our journey towards Brønnøysund, our next port of call.
With its marina and a spectacular natural setting, Brønnøysund is one of the nicest harbours on this trip.
This city is located halfway from the northmost and southmost latitudes of Norway.
Midnatsol leaves Brønnøysund, sailing among the islands.
We can see the Torghatten, the Hat with a hole.
The hole in this mountain was caused by the centaur's arrow, that we saw petrified this morning (the legend says).
Rørvik is our last port of call today.
In the distance we can see MS Nordlys, who is going to cross us and continue to the north.
