Hi, everyone. My name is Tina
and today, I'll be doing a hair collaboration with some of my
2 closest friends here on YouTube, Jam & Sherry.
Please check out their video's, the links
will be in the bottom bar and at the end of this tutorial.
And as for today's hair tutorial,
I'm going to show you how to do an easy, wedding hairstyle updo.
Ok, so..let's start.
We're going to split out hair and section off
the sides, and the crown, and all the hair
above the ears in the back.
So what's lefts is all the hair below the ears...
Then we're going to split that into 3,
and then just make donuts.
We're going to take a section of hair,
and then wrap that strand our 2 fingers
and then pin it.
Now, you need to make sure that you pin both ends
of the donut, because during a wedding
or a prom, there's going to be a lot of dancing,
and you don't want the hair falling apart.
So it's better to have too many pins in the hair,
as long as it's NOT showing, than too little
You can do this hairstyle with straight hair
without any heat, but it makes it
a lot harder. So I suggest that you curl your
hair with a 1/2 inch curling iron.
Any products used will be in the description box as always.
So now we're on the second strand,
for me this strand is the longest,
because my hair is in a "V"...
so wrapping it twice or even three times isn't going to be enough
so what I'm going to do here is, wrap the hair around my
fingers 2~3 times, and then pin it
and then with the same strand, I'm
going to make another curl before pinning.
Now I could've just wrapped it just 5-6-7-8 times before
pinning it once, but it would've come out
really bulky and..ugly.
So consider what I said, as you're making your curls,
you can either have 1 fat curl, or you can
have couple of loose, fluffy curls, but it
would take more time and effort.
If your ends are thin, actually, if your HAIR is thin,
you might want to use this technique instead of
this donut making method I'm trying to teach you today.
What you do is, you're going to twist the strand,
until you get to the bottom, and then hold
onto the ends with 1 hand, while with the other hand
you pull up.
Creating a natural teasing effect, and then you just pin that piece.
I have a whole tutorial dedicated to this technique,
Taylor Swift formal hairstyle - or something or another..
I'm going to link it for you here..
When the back is done, start teasing the crown before securing it down.
And then with the ends, we're just going to make more curls.
For the sides, you want to pull them tightly back,
in a twist. So for the left side,
you're going to twist it clockwise before
pinning it across previous bobby pins.
And for the right side, you're going to
twist it counter-clockwise before pinning it over the previous bobby pins.
Now, make sure you use plenty of hairspray
for a wedding or a prom event, because it has to last
many, many hours, and then just have a blast!
