In my last video, which you can click right here to watch, I demonstrated that Twitch
doesn't need to mute videos that have copyrighted music in them. All it needs to do is remove
the copyrighted music from the video and leave the rest of the audio alone.
But how do you do that? Well, I'll show you how I did it.
Here is the full mix from my video, it's both the dialog and the music.
"Removing the infringing music while leaving the rest of the audio intact."
Okay, we'll mute that for a moment. Down here is the music itself.
(music plays)
Okay. So, how do you remove this... from this?
Well, what's 1 plus -1?
Zero, right? So let's say that this is the waveform of our copyrighted music. We're gonna
take a look at this section right there. So let's redraw that.
There we go, it has an amplitude of 1.
So, what would happen if we added the inverse, -1?
Well, it would cancel itself out, right?
Well, let's see.
So, we'll take the music-only track and we'll invert it. Effect -> Invert.
Now, we'll add it to the full mix, which is both the dialog and the music. So, Tracks -> Mix and Render.
Now let's see what happened.
"Removing the infringing music while leaving the rest of the audio intact."
Yep.
