My name is Emelia Fahlin and I'm coming from Sweden
but living mostly in Spain right now.
So far I've been more, being on as a development rider
and been trying to help the team as much as I can
and seeing when you can, yeah, try to improve yourself
and find out what you're good at.
She's kind of an all-around rider, so I asked her her specialty
and she said well, she climbs well, she time-trials pretty well.
She says she's not awesome at any of them
but an incredible athlete.
Her flexibility, it can't get any better,
and she's one of those people that's just natural.
Ask her if she works on her flexibility,
and she just kind of laughs and says not really.
I've ridden my old shoes for a few years now.
The big changes came mostly with her shoes.
I really noticed that she had her left knee
almost banging off the top tube
and her right knee was sitting pretty far out away from the bike.
The arch collapses a ton and the shoes that she was wearing previously
had no arch support in them at all.
Because I heard of a lot of good stuff about the specialized shoes.
People say they're really comfortable
and I really wanted to try and see if I liked them, and I did.
Really we got her in a new set of shoes.
She went with a specialized S-Works shoes
which have built in arch support, as well as, we bumped up the foot bed
so we went to a green foot bed which is the most arch support.
The result was that left side was so much better supported
that it just straightened out her knee tracking almost perfectly.
To get my elbows more straight and put off the tension,
we put up the handlebar.
She also rode the drops of her arms almost locked up.
We brought the front end up a full centimeter,
and then adjusted the brake hoods a little bit
to fit her wrist angle better, as well as rolling the handlebars.
Which actually felt a lot, lot better. And you could,
it was cool to see it later on on the screen, the difference it made.
All that relaxed the entire upper body, made her a lot more comfortable
in terms of being able to ride the drops more sustained.
And it had the effect of kind of changing the way she sat on the saddle,
so we were able to take the saddle back just a little bit
which worked out really well because her original position,
she was a little bit too far forward,
and so I was able to just open the cockpit length up just a little bit
and watch the whole body settle in and relax.
It was really cool.
That was really good.
Everybody likes to see themselves on a bike.
The BG Fit Data System, video capture, allows the rider to see themselves.
Emelia was really into that.
She really wanted to understand what it was we were doing.
She could see the changes.
It's kind of cool to see. And when you see it,
when you make the changes and have such a program
that you can see with the lines and everything
and actually compare and measure, it makes,
you actually figure out how it's working and see if it makes sense or not,
so it's really interesting.
I'm really excited to see what it's going to feel like.
