This album is named "Tain't what you do, it's the way that you do it".
It's the name of a song, written in the late 1930's.
The funny part is that the lyrics are about doing everything in a cool, "street smart" way.
Because if it's not that way, nothing works, everything gets stuck.
The trio's story begans when Hercules joined us.
And from then on we started working on our repertoire, initially inspired by Nat King Cole Trio.
And later we spread it to other influences we have.
Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington, Count Basie...
Some tracks are new arrangements for standards and others are our own compositions.
And we don't have a drummer, what makes us (guitar & bass) have to work a little harder, right?
It's true.
The less instruments, musicians we have, easier it is to listen to one another.
Because you listen to everything, everyone. You can interact more easily.
Greater responsibility.
When someone screws up...
Me & him, if one of us screws up, we're dead.
One impacts the other instantly.
Lindy Hop is a dance created in the late 1920's in Harlem, USA.
You see people hopping around and having fun.
This kind of music used to be made for dancing.
That's true. The idea of jazz as popular music got lost in time.
People show up at our concerts to dance.
