Jesus took the loaves, the bread rolls, and He gave thanks unto God, and then He started
to distribute the 5 loaves to the disciples.
Jesus equally shared those 5 loaves to the 12 disciples. Now I already thought
by myself, it's a big deal, the mother of that boy didn't give 6 loaves? Would have been
easy to divide among 12 disciples...... everyone a half.
Now Jesus had really to break very neatly and nicely so that every one of those 12 disciples got just under half a loaf of bread.

Jesus distributed to the disciples and here they've got it in the hollow of their hands, just under half a loaf of bread.
Jesus distributed to the disciples and here they've got it in the hollow of their hands, just under half a loaf of bread.
And I'm sure He also distributed the fish.
Now you.... you divide 2 sardines among 12 men...
...and then have 12 men divide that piece of sardine among 20,000.That's what it is.
Now is my calculation right? I think every one got 1/6th of a fish?
1/6th of a fish, just under a half a loaf of bread, and here they stood... Jesus there, smiling as He dished it out.

Now, let me focus in on Peter a little bit, I love Peter because I think he was a rough diamond.
You know, he wasn't polished much, but he was genuine.
Here Peter stood with his few crumbs, and with that little piece of fish, maybe he just got the fin!
All right.
Here stood Jesus, here stood the 12 disciples,
And the crowd was there.
Peter looking at his crumbs
And all of a sudden he looked back,
and now the problem starts. Looking at the crumbs, and now he looks ...the first row, the first row.
Ten meters away behind his butt...the first row. He looks at the first man, that man look like a wardrobe.
That man look like an empty fridge!
And Peter has his few crumbs and a little piece of fish in his hand.
Can you see the impossibility? Can you see the catastrophe?
Okay.
I had always thought in the past that the multiplication took place in the hands of Jesus.
This is not so. The multiplication did not take place in the hands of Jesus.
You'll find out in a minute. Let me come back to the picture. Here stands Jesus, smiling.
Here stand the 12 disciples, sweating.
And behind them, 20,000 people, suffering.
Now Jesus tells them to turn around and to face the crowd. Can you imagine?
They did it like this. Slow motion. Very slow. Very slow.
Whoah!
Now they came, became aware of the full disaster! Checking their crumbs, and looking at the mighty crowd.
The vast problem, and the little answer.
But I've got good news for you.
If you first face Jesus, you can face any problem!
Hallelujah!
